This webinar will explore why children will exhibit challenging behaviour including a discussion of specific emotional or behavioural difficulties, and how teachers in early childhood contexts can respond positively and effectively to children. The webinar will cover both how teachers can engage with children when they are presenting with challenging behaviour as well as providing strategies that teachers can use to support children’s social and emotional competence.

Dr Anna Winneker is an Associate Research Professor at the University of South Florida. She has a professional and educational background working with children identified with emotional/behavior difficulties in settings ranging from residential treatment to inclusion. Anna currently directs the Program-Wide Positive Behavior Support Project at USF. This project supports early childhood education programs to implement the Pyramid Model program-wide with fidelity.
