Intentional teaching and the role of the teacher

Effective teachers are intentional in their practice, aware of their actions and words, and purposeful in how they engage with children.

Chanel and her team at Country Kids discuss how they focus on intentional language as an important component of their teaching. They describe how a core tenet of their pedagogy is to use correct language, including correct scientific language, when engaging with children. They explain that having high expectations of children guides and informs their teaching, and also how the children constantly exceed these expectations as they thrive in the language-rich environment.
