Hunter is the vice dean of academic affairs and a research professor for the Johns Hopkins School of Education. His primary research interest is focused on bolstering the social perspective-taking capacities of teachers and students to improve teacher-student relationships. Through his work at Panorama, he has also explored how schools might use surveys to improve teacher and student outcomes
