COMING UP:

Webinar with Vanessa Leaver

7.30pm (NZST) Tuesday June 24, 2025

Developmental Language Disorder or DLD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions, affecting approximately one in every 14 people. Children and young people with DLD experience difficulties with the comprehension and expression of meaning through language. They may have trouble finding the words to express themselves, organising sentences, understanding words, following instructions, answering questions, and remembering what someone has said.

In addition, they may have difficulty paying attention and learning to read and write. In this webinar, speech pathologist Vanessa Leaver will talk about DLD, how it can affect children and young people at school, and how to support students with DLD in the classroom.

Vanessa Leaver is a speech language therapist and executive functioning coach. Over the last 10 years she has been the founder of private practice clinics in Tokyo and Sydney, where she led teams undertaking clinical practice in early childhood settings as well as primary and high school settings. You can learn more about her at www.vanessaleaver.com.

A recording of the live webinar will be available afterwards.
