COMING UP:
Webinar with Julie Cullen
7.30pm (NZST) Wednesday March 12, 2025
The use of screen-based digital technologies (such as computers and digital devices) is increasing for children and young people worldwide. Digital technologies offer educational and social benefits, but can also present a risk of harm to children and young people.
This is particularly important in New Zealand, where rates of screen use among children and young people are some of the highest in the world. In this webinar, Julie Cullen of Sensible Screen Use will share insights from a recently published review which examined the impacts of digital technologies on the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. She will also offer pragmatic recommendations for the use of digital technologies in schools, kura kaupapa, and early childhood education. Julie Cullen is a paediatric physiotherapist, the founder of Sensible Screen Use, and is currently completing her research thesis in children’s eye health through the University of Auckland.
A recording of this live webinar will be available afterwards.
