COMING UP:
Webinar with Hema Sridhar
7.30pm (NZST) Tuesday February 25, 2025
Since the launch of ChatGPT at the end of 2022, the role of generative AI in teaching and learning has become pervasive. Some educators and educational settings have embraced it, while others have banned it. As the technology rapidly develops and becomes more sophisticated, what are the implications for teachers and schools?
Hema Sridhar will discuss the opportunities and risks of working with these emergent technologies in schools and classrooms. Hema Sridhar is a Senior Research Fellow with Koi Tū: The Centre for Informed Futures, where she leads their work with government relations, technology and its impact on society, and foresight. She has nearly 20 years of experience in government, primarily in the defence and national security sector. In her previous role as the Chief Advisor for Industry and Science at the Ministry of Defence, she worked together with industry, research and science entities, government agencies, and international partners to provide strategic advice to inform policy formulation, governance, and capability decisions.
A recording of the live webinar will be available afterwards.
