Panel discussion: On Knowledge;

You are invited to a special panel discussion to celebrate the launch of The Education Hub’s research report, On Knowledge; Towards understandings of the place(s), space(s) and role(s) of knowledge in and for education. The report is a response to the somewhat contested place knowledge currently holds in schools and education. It explores the various conceptualisations and roles of knowledge in education through a series of seven short chapters written by guest contributors on topics including: philosophical approaches to knowledge; knowledge and the curriculum; knowledge in early childhood education; Māori knowledge in education; and open knowledge. Professor Graeme Aitken will moderate the discussion with panelists Professor John Morgan (University of Auckland), Claire Amos (Principal Albany Senior High School), and Hemi Dale (University of Auckland).
